9 Minute Medicine

Our 9 Minute Medicine (9 minutes being the median response time for an ambulance in PA) class fills a niche between military self-aid/buddy care training and civilian EMS training.
Tailored for individuals with limited or no medical experience, it provides the student with critical, need-to-know information, which can be utilized in a myriad of situations. This class will help you understand the importance of carrying a trauma kit and learn the basics on how to use components such as tourniquets and gauze, as well as proper emergency medical dialect/lingo (911 protocol, cooperation with LE, Fire and EMS and First Responders)

30,000 people die each year in the United States from uncontrolled bleeding. Learn the basics on how to control and stop the bleeding.

Length: 3-4 hours

Cost: $150

This class will cover:

  • Scene safety
  • Personal protective equipment
  • Rapid trauma assessment
  • Tourniquet application and types of tourniquets 
  • Wound packing – regular VS hemostatic gauze
  • Pressure bandages and types of pressure bandages
  • Chest seals – commercial and improvised
  • How to make a 911 call

You will also have the option to stay an additional hour and receive your official Stop The Bleed certification.
